Cardinal Boys Track Team wins Region 8B Championship Nine Cardinals qualify for the State Track Meet
Last Thursday the Bison Boys Track Team won the Region 8B track title for the first time in the history of the school. It was a huge win and a big boost going into the State Track Meet this Friday and Saturday. The team is really looking good and is peaking at the right time. The win was truly a team win with all 9 members contributing points in the effort.
Cole Buer was injured earlier in the week and his presence was questionable. With Cole out of the picture, it looked like Bison was locked into a very tight race with Faith for the title. The meet didn't start well for Bison either. We didn't get as many points as we thought we might in some of the early events and we found ourselves down early. Fortunately, things changed for the better and we won by a large margin. Cole did manage to run two events (100m & 200m) and he won them both. Josh McKinstry won 3 events (110h, 300h, & triple jump) and placed 3rd (Long jump) in another. Cody Buer turned in a solid performance, as did Daniel Burkhalter.
