Arlene Caldwell

Arlene Caldwell 81, of Murdo, South Dakota, died on Saturday, August 17th , 2019 at the Avantara nursing home in Pierre, South Dakota.
Arlene was born on October 26, 1937 to Joseph and Cecilia (Kosalski) Leschinski in Detroit, Michigan. She grew up and attended school in Hamtramck. She married Donald Lee O’Hern and to this union two children were born, Cindy and Jerry. She lived in Delta, Utah from 1982-2005, moved back to Detroit for a short time before moving to Murdo in 2006. She was a very talented seamstress owning her own business, Arlene’s Alterations in Delta, Utah. When she moved to Murdo she worked as a Cook at the Triple H Truck Stop Restaurant until her retirement. She loved to sew, crochet and bake. Arlene was a very kind and generous person who was known to give the coat off her back to someone who needed one.
She is survived by her children Cynthia O’Hern and Gerald O’Hern both of Murdo. She is also survived by six grandsons, Kurt Johnson, Travis Johnson, Jared Johnson, Chad Johnson, Shawn O’Hern, Casey O’Hern and one great grandson Kameren Johnson.
She was preceded in death by her parents three brothers Eugene, Richard, Donald and two sisters Loraine and JoAnne.
The family will be having a Celebration of Life Gathering at a later date.
