Avery is the oldest of two children born to Joshua Beckman and Kodi Swedlund.
In her 3 beautiful years she brought so much light, love, and happiness to everyone she met. With blue eyes, and chubby cheeks Avery had us all wrapped around her little finger. As she grew so did her curls that fit her crazy, independent personality. Avery was her daddy’s “shop” girl, and little shadow that went everywhere with him. She never passed up an opportunity to be outside of the house, whether it was with her uncles, “mama” (grandma), or Papa (grandpa) out on the ranch doing chores and seeing all the sheep, cows, “neigh, neigh’s”, mama’s” puppies, and “Papa’s” kitties. Avery loved anything that kept her active including volleyball practice with mom, or even just playing outside at home with her kitties and her sissy. Avery was her daddy’s little “shop” girl and would more often than not be covered head to toe in grease, oil, and dirt, but she also loved her tutu’s, makeup, bows, and mommy’s high heels. She loved her farm animals and cars just as much as her Minnies, and baby’s. Avery also loved to chase balloons, watch airplanes, work on derby cars, stargaze and everything purple. She had to smell every flower she walked past, and with a wildflower personality of her own you would often find her stealing daddy’s tools, jumping in puddles, and loving all the little creatures she came across from grasshoppers, to salamanders. Though Avery was our ‘busy’ body she always had time for candy bars, and pop from daddy’s shop stash, ice cream at home with mom, pizza at “mama’s” or cookies with “papa”. Avery Lynn was the brightest light and touched so many lives in the time God blessed us with her. There are no words to describe just how amazing our little blue eyed, curly haired wild child was to everyone around her. Avery gave her mommy and daddy so much joy everyday and taught us so much. We will treasure every second we had with her.
Avery is survived by her parents Joshua Beckman, Kodi Swedlund, her little sister Kathryn Blake Beckman; her grandparents Dan and Jenny Beckman, Jane and Richard Amiotte, and Kelly Swedlund; Her aunts, uncles, and cousins Dylan, Kaylee, and Skylar Beckman (cousin), Jaren, Paige, and Baby Beckman (cousin), Jaylie Beckman, Kevin, LaTia, and Katarina Swedlund (cousin), Kyle Swedlund, Brenden, Ashley, Maeve (cousin), and Spencer Amiotte (cousin); Her great grandparents Stanley and Mary Brixey, Janita Amiotte, and LaVerna Mateicka; As well as numerous extended family members. Avery was welcomed into Heaven by those who passed before her; great grandparents Daniel and Kathy Beckman, James Mateicka, Henry “Wayne” Amiotte, and Dennis and Barbara Swedlund.
Special thanks to auntie Kay, and the first responders who helped us in the first moments of our loss. We also want to thank our family and friends for the outpouring of love and support. You have all been a blessing to us in our time of need.
Avery was as wild as her curls and she loved to swing ‘high’ in the sky, and go down the slides ‘so fast’.
All funds will be going towards a park in her memory in Prairie City, SD.
Condolences may be sent and a livestream of the funeral viewed at www.evansonjensenfuneralhome.com.
