Bernice A. Hammerstrom
Bernice A. Hammerstrom, who will be remembered for her kindness and loving care, passed away July 14, 2024 at Pioneer Memorial Nursing Home in Viborg, SD. She was born to Bert and Eleanor Plucker at Lennox, SD. She graduated from Chancellor High School and LPN Nursing School. Bernice married Dale Hammerstom in 1952 and lived on a farm north of Chancellor, SD. Bernice and Dale also lived in Sioux Falls, Tea and Quinn, SD during their marriage. While they lived near Quinn, Bernice was a nurse at the Quinn Nursing Home in the the 1970's for 7 years. She also worked at Luther Manor Nursing Home in Sioux Falls, SD for 35 years. Bernice loved to dance, travel, attend activities, help people and attend outdoor band concerts in the Sioux Falls area. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Dale in 1986, husband Bill Beaumont in 2015 whom she married in 1990, 3 sisters and 4 brothers. Survivors include her children Les (Georgia) Hammerstrom, Kinear, WY, Karol (Gale) Patterson, Wall, SD, Karen (Terry) Gunn, Wasta, SD and Byron (Terese) Hammerstrom, Sioux Falls, SD. 9 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Sister Delores VanBockern and Stan (Marlene) Plucker both from Sioux Falls. Visitation will be Thursday, July 18, 2024 at Dindot-Klusman Funeral Home in Lennox, SD from 5-7:00 CT. Funeral services will be at 10:30 Friday, July 19, 2024 at Asbury Methodist Church in Sioux Falls, SD.
