Jacqueline Jean Thorson, age 87

Jackie Thorson

Jacqueline Jean Thorson passed away on May 1, 2017 in Colorado Springs, Colo. She was 87 years young.
 
Jackie was born in March of 1930 in Elk Point, S.D., to Golda and Orville Lewison. She lived with her grandparents, Elsie and Nelius Lewison, and graduated high school in Philip, S.D. 
 
In August 1948, she married Lawrence Ned “Tork” Thorson. In 1950, they moved to Colorado Springs to live, work and raise their family of four daughters. She lived in the town of Security, Colo., from 1956 to 2016.
 
During 1956-1996, she was self-employed as a business owner/office manager/bookkeeper with Tork at the Car Hospital Transmissions.  She also worked as the office manager at Security Park & Recreation 1967-1971.
 
Jackie was an optimist in life. She enjoyed people, working, learning, traveling and dancing. She liked crafts, writing, music and cooking. She loved her family, her friends, her home and her poodles.
 
Jackie is survived by her four daughters, Victoria, Lynn, Candy and Dawn, sons-in-law, eight grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. 
 
Jackie is preceded in death by her husband, Tork.   
 
A memorial service will be held Saturday May 27, at Brookdale Skyline in Colorado Springs, Serenity Room, at 1:30 p.m.
