Larry Weishaar

The memorial service for Larry Weishaar age 76 of Bison was held at 2:00pm Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at the First Presbyterian Church in Bison with Pastor Florence Hoff, officiating.

Larry was born July 29, 1941 in Terry, Montana, to Adolph and Hertha (Netzer) Weishaar. Larry was 2nd born of 9 siblings. His dad loved trading farmsteads so they lived near several small rural towns in Montana and South Dakota. Larry was his dad’s right-hand-man. His father farmed with Horses but was open to trying “new” things so had bought a tractor. Larry quit school in 7th grade to help his Dad with the equipment. At 17, Larry married. The marriage lasted around 2 yrs. Three children were born to that union. After his dad’s sudden death, Larry needed to find employment elsewhere. At a wedding near Bison, he was informed that Howard Millett was looking for help. Two years after moving to the Millett Ranch he met Sylvia Ogdahl. They married after Sylvia’s graduation a year later. Two children were born to this union. In the 47 years with Millett Ranch, Larry loved working with livestock and keeping machinery in top shape, eventually becoming manager of that ranch. He was proud to be a volunteer with the Reva Fire Dept, a member of the Pasque Lodge 214 A.F.&A.M., the Naja Shrine, and West River Shrine Unit.
