Lenora Masteller is no longer watching her birds from her doors and windows; she is now soaring with them from Heaven above.


Lenora, 87, passed away, surrounded by her loving family, on October 17, 2016, at Avera St. Mary’s Hospital. A celebration of her life will be on November 26, 2016 at River Center Church in Pierre at 11:00.


Lenora was born on April 10, 1929 in Kennebec, S.D., to John and Alice Anderson. She attended school in Kennebec. Her major jobs were being a great cook and housekeeper.
Throughout her life she loved dancing, fishing, going for rides in the country, sewing, crafting, woodworking, and most importantly, spending time with loved ones. In more recent years she loved crocheting potholders and nifty knitting hats and gifting them to others. In life her goals were sharing God’s love and kindness with all her family and friends and making people smile and laugh with her everlasting love and amazing sense of humor.


Jealous of the Angels are those grateful for having shared her life, daughters: Loretta Dowling, Sandra (Butch) Schmidt, Kandy Hanson, Susan (Rick) Armbrister and Julie McBride (Special friend Steve); 12 grandchildren: Dena (Mark) Holzer, Dawn Dowling (Linda), Darin (Cassie) Dowling, Kristi Schmidt (Randy), Levi Schmidt, Kari Schmidt (Tanner), Billie Jo (Steve) Sherwood, Ryan (Niki) Masteller, Shannon Miller, Jennifer Miller (Matthew), Misty (Mike) Smith and Brandy McBride (Dane); 21 great-grandchildren: Tiffany, Aaron (Brittany), Logan, Kaylee (Shawn), Tanner, Marisa, Wheeler, Dayton, Jeremy, Zane(Billie), Wendy, Bailey, Zachary, Nicholas, Adalyn, Kaydon, Braxdyn, Jay, Lane, Teyah and Michael; three great-great-grandchildren: Chet, Gemma and Melena; sisters: Mick Weaver, Lucille Crouch, Ginny Slifko and Laura (Bud) Reuer; brother Orville (Lola) Anderson, many nieces, nephews, doctors, caregivers, friends and special friend Alice Horsley.


She was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter Tami Schmidt; grandson Jesse Hanson; sisters: Glady, Tudie, Mitzie, Opal and Gertie; brothers: Andy, Gene and Leo and special friends Aryln and John.
