Lucy Freeman, age 89, of Kadoka, S.D., died on Thursday, June 1, 2017, at the Philip Nursing Home.
 
Lucy Ella Wilson was born April 29, 1928, at Elbon, S.D., to William Key and Sarah Patience (Sutton) Wilson. 
 
She grew up in the Kirley and Kadoka areas and graduated from the Kadoka High School in 1947. She attended Greene’s Beauty School in Rapid City and graduated from there in 1949. 
 
Lucy was united in marriage to Dean Allard of Norris on June 5, 1949. To this union two children were born, Deborah “Debbie” Ann in 1952 and Rocky Lynn in 1953.
 
Lucy was the president of the Retarded Children’s of South Dakota Association and worked tirelessly for this organization. Lucy and children lived in White River until May 26, 1970, when she was united in marriage to Glenn Freeman of Midland, gaining five more children, Claude, James, Bryan, Lynn and Valerie. Glenn and Lucy owned and operated the KOA Campground and farm until selling the campground in 1989 and farm in 1992.
 
They moved to Denver where they managed several property management units until retiring to Lemoyne, Neb., in 1995 where they did over-the-road sales for 12 years. They later moved to Kadoka in 2009 to be closer to family.
 
Lucy enjoyed crocheting, bowling and doing needlepoint. She also enjoyed watching football and basketball on television.
 
Survivors include her husband, Glenn, of Kadoka; daughter, Debbie (Floren) Falzone of Philip; sons, Rocky Allard of Black Hills Works in Rapid City, Claude Freeman of Kadoka, Bryan (Janet) Freeman of New Market, Minn., Lynn (Merlin) Guthmiller of Box Elder, Valerie (Rick) Reyevich of Sheridan, Wyo.; daughter-in-law, Rosalind Freeman of Des Moines, Iowa; brothers-in-law, Harold “Bud” Weller of Kadoka and Lester Clarke of Aberdeen; one grandson, Lance (Erin) Falzone of Kempner, Texas; two great-grandsons, Cason and Eastin Falzone; several stepgrandchildren and great-stepgrandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
 
She was preceded in death by her parents, Key and Patie Wilson; one son, James; one brother, Kenneth Wilson; sisters, Charlotte Clarke and Clara Belle Weller; and one sister-in-law, Eleanor Wilson.
 
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 8, 2017, at the Belvidere Community Church in Belvidere with Pastor Gary McCubbin officiating.
 
Interment will be at the Belvidere Cemetery.
