Roger Allen Herbaugh, age 64, of Vivian, S.D., died Wednesday, June 15, 2016, at the Rapid City Regional Hospital.
Roger Allen Herbaugh was born Jan, 28, 1952, in Kadoka, the son of Ernest and Mary Ellen (Wellman) Herbaugh. 
He grew up in the Okaton area, graduating from Murdo High School in 1970. He entered the U.S. Marine Corps after graduation, but was medically discharged after a few months. He returned to the Okaton area and worked on the Milwaukee Railroad. 
In 1972, Roger was united in marriage to Julia Crazy Bear in Belvidere. 
They made their home in Okaton, where Roger continued to work for the railroad until it shut down. He then did carpentry work for Wayne Wiedemer and Tom Lebeda. He later worked for Farmers Union Co-op in Draper for the next 10 years. Roger then worked for various farmers and ranchers in the area, and made his home in Murdo. Currently Roger worked at the rest area near Vivian, and had resided in Vivian for the last four years.
In his spare time, Roger enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include two sons, Tyrel Herbaugh and Clayton Herbaugh, both of Murdo; one granddaughter, Emma; three brothers, Keith Herbaugh of Draper, Fred Herbaugh of Murdo, and Loren Herbaugh of Vivian; one sister, Starla Brown and her husband, Bill, of Kadoka; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Roger was preceded in death by his father, Ernest, on April 3, 1991; his mother, Mary Ellen, on Feb. 15, 2016; and a brother, Gary Herbaugh.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
