Terry Renay Brink

Terry Renay Brink, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2023, at the age of 80. She was born in Rapid City, South Dakota, on May 29, 1943, to Adelle and Darrel Schuelke.

Terry met the love of her life, Darwin Brink, at a stock show in Faith, South Dakota, during high school. They married on November 24, 1962, and had four children together: Darrell, Corey, Denise, and Jason. 

She had an amazing family and a close relationship with her brother, sisters, and best-friends Patsy, Sherryl, and Ardith. She found the most joy from her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

Terry was happiest when she was taking care of others. She devoted her life to taking care of her son, Jason, who was the light of her life. Terry was a hairdresser for many years and later worked as an EMT. She got immense joy helping people in those tough situations.

Terry welcomed all who entered her home, whether it be family, friends, or strangers. You could always find a few extras living at the house. Anyone who walked through the door could expect a room full of laughter and a belly full of pancakes or homemade chicken noodle soup.  She especially loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved attending their activities when she could and was always excited to spend time with them, hearing about all they were doing. She loved watching the boys of the family race cars and motorcycles. On Friday and Saturday nights you could always find her at the racetrack. She also enjoyed attending rodeos, dancing, watching PBR on TV, and listening to music. 

Terry is survived by her sisters Frankie (Paul) Harper, Vicki (Jack) Garrigan,  Lou Ann (Butch) Samuelson, Jill (Bill) Dunbar; brother, Keith (Teresa) Schuelke;  Marlin (Linda) Brink, Neoma Richter, Robin Brink, Keith Brink; children, Darrell (Laurie) Brink, Denise (Greg) Gehring, Corey (Wendy) Brink, and Jason Brink, her 9 grandchildren, DJ (Alyssa) Brink, Camarae (Allie) Brink, Aleesa (James) Abdo, Gage (Maddie) Gehring, Blayne (Amber) Brink, Gunnar Gehring, Brody Brink, Jenna Gehring, and Maggie Brink; and 4 great grandchildren, Declan Brink, Booker Brink, Remi Abdo,  and Blakely Brink 

She is preceded in death by her husband, Darwin; grandson, Ghett Gehring; parents, Darrel and Adele Schuelke, Delmar and  Jeanette Brink; brothers-in-law, Karl Richter, Delbert Brink; grandparents and numerous other relatives who were all undoubtedly waiting with open arms. 

Terry’s family was her life. She will be remembered for her unconditional love for them, her selfless ways, and her willingness to help and care for everyone around her.

Funeral services were held Saturday, August 19, 2023, at the First Presbyterian Church, Sturgis, SD.
