Violet Vivian Gehring was born on May 28, 1923 at Kulm, ND to Anna Heck and Reinhold Gehring.  She went to various schools in North and South Dakota and graduated from High School in Bison, SD.

Violet met the love of her life, Charles T. Week and they were united in marriage on October 8, 1942.  Charles entered the US Army on October 13, 1942 and served overseas in Europe during WWII.  Violet stayed in the United States and worked at various jobs until Charles returned home in 1946.

Violet and Charles lived on the family ranch near Prairie City, SD where they raised their three children, Bruce, Debbie and Lori. They lived and operated the farm until 1989, when they retired to Spearfish, SD.

Violet loved her flowers and they were beautiful.  She for sure had a green thumb.  She also liked doing interior decorating.  Their homes were always so homey.  Violet decorated cakes and made delicious goodies of all kinds.
Music was also in both Violet and Charles’ lives.  Singing and playing instruments with their children, friends and neighbors. They would have music and parties and everyone enjoyed themselves.

Violet passed away on Sunday, February 19 at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Mott, ND.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her siblings Grace and Mary Ann.
