National Grasslands Visitor Center and UNL seek local participation for exciting grasslands history projects

We encourage individuals who can share information about homesteading in the local area, the relationship homesteaders had with the land, what they used the land for and the conditions that have to do with the formation of the National Grasslands.

The National Grasslands Visitor Center and an anthropological field school from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln will be working together on two exciting national research projects. The projects aim to collect oral histories as well as digitally record American Indian artifacts from private collections.
The oral history portion of the project is focused on gathering information about homesteading on land that is now the Buffalo Gap National Grasslands.
