Gerry Ray Feddersen, 74, passed away on Tuesday, July 25th at his home in Vivian, S.D. A remembrance of life will be held on Saturday, September 5th at 11:00 a.m. (cst) at Isburg Funeral Chapel in Pierre with a visitation with family and refreshments one hour prior to the service.
Gerry was born on September 5, 1951 to Herman and Ada (Stotts) Feddersen at the Kadoka Memorial Hospital in Kadoka, S.D. He attended school in Wasta, S.D, Arkansas, Valentine, Neb., and in 1964 the family settled in Keystone, S.D. He attended school until the 8th grade in Keystone before graduating from high school in Hill City, S.D. in 1969.
After graduation he had summer jobs in the Keystone area before he was hired to a road construction crew. While working road construction he helped build the Keystone Wye on Hwy 16A and the I90 interstate east of Murdo.
Gerry met his wife Bonnie Heil while working in Keystone and they were married on July 27, 1974. Their marriage was full of travel and adventures. They made their home in Alaska, Montana and California. While they lived in Alaska, he worked on the Alaskan Pipeline and was a hunting guide, this is also where he and Bonnie welcomed their son Jess. While living in Montana and California he entered the world of retail construction and was involved with the building of 100’s of Starbucks. He was the superintendent of construction and was involved from start to finish overseeing the jobs.
In 2016 Gerry and Bonnie retired and moved home to South Dakota where they settled in Vivian. After 51 years of marriage Gerry lost Bonnie in 2026 in Rapid City.
Gerry is survived by his son Jess (Keeley) of Long Beach, Calif., brother Lonnie of Hill City, S.D., sisters Karla (Mike) Rohde of Rockerville, S.D., Linda (Doug) Perry of Presho, S.D. and Ronda Hunter of Gillette, Wyo. He is also survived by sisters-in-laws Karen (Clint) Kobly of California, Cheryl (Dave) Potts of Rapid City, S.D., Darla (Bob) Heil of Bishop, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his wife Bonnie, his parents, infant brother Herman, his sister Galene Meza, brother-in-law Dale Hunter, and sister-in-law Patty Feddersen.
